About the Artist

Celeste Bernadette North also known as Berni is from Vincennes, Indiana. She majored in Fine art at the University of Indiana and the University of Louisville. Beginning with stained glass in 1983, Berni quickly outgrew her small studio and her medium, moving to a large studio with a gallery where she began creating her unique compositions with hot glass.

An art major emphasizing on ceramics and fine art, Berni draws much of her inspiration from nature. Berni’s unique compositions appeal to a wide range of buyers. Using her exceptionally keen eye for art, Berni combines the fluidness of the glass mixed with the many different colors to create pieces ranging from simple but elegant intertwining candle holders to her widely acclaimed intricate fish sculptures.

Her many commissions include glass murals for the Paroquet Springs Conference Center in Shepherdsville, KY.  The three dimensional mural features an aquatic theme over 20 ft high and 8 ft wide. She has won numerous awards for her work.
